1880 Census for Marshall County, AL

This census page shows Micajah Jr.'s widow Rachel living with their her daughters Dorcas and Elizabeth. Her son, William, was in the next household with his wife Mary E. (Swearingen) and son Walter. Rachel, Dorcas, and Elizabeth were living on William's homestead. Rachel's grandson Columbus (son of Mastin) was living nearby, and daughter Eunice Kerr was also living nearby.

I believe that Richard Swearengin is Mary E. Hill's uncle (and Reuben and Eliza her cousins). Based on Reuben's land patent (AL4040__.494), it appears that Reuben's property was very close to what is now Swearengin, AL.

I don't know if the Guffee/Guffey family is related somehow.
